²³ For they were subject to the king’s orders; and there was a fixed schedule for the singers, assigning them their daily duties. ²⁴ P’tachyah the son of Mesheizav’el, from the descendants of Zerach the son of Y’hudah, was the king’s deputy in all affairs concerning the people.
